Saturday 20th March 2027 10am-5pm
Sunday 21st March 2027 10am-4pm
Where is EAYF 2027?
For our sixth year we will be back at the Norfolk Showground Arena, Dereham Road, NR5 0TP. There are multiple entrances onto showground property. The entrance you need to use to find the parking for the arena can be found opposite the Showground Premier Inn, Dereham Road, Norwich, NR5 0TP. This is Gate 01.
When you enter the showground you will pass the Norfolk Foodhall on your right, this is not the entrance to the show, please carry on past this entrance and follow the signs for show parking.
Tell us about your ticket options…
Tickets will go on sale at 1pm BST on 1st September 2026.
For the second year we will be offering a weekend ticket! Weekend tickets are valid for both days and a priced to reflect a 15% discount off the purchase price of 2 individual day tickets. Weekend tickets are exempt from the time slot entry system.
Do you offer concession tickets?
We do not offer concession tickets for East Anglia Yarn Festival.
We work very hard to make our marketplace event as accessible as possible.
We provide free parking, create large amounts of blue badge parking areas which are monitored and marshalled throughout the weekend.
The entrance to the show is accessed via a ramp. Once indoors the show is all on one level, with a smooth floor throughout. There are multiple toilet locations indoors, each with accessible toilets.
We create a seating area at both ends of the arena, so that visitors are able to take a break after every walk through of the marketplace.
All of our aisles in the marketplace are at least 3m wide at all times.
We do not play background music at our event and we do provide a quiet room where folks can take a moment away from the busy marketplace.
A note from Laura… In previous years I have tried to go an extra step by offering a free carer entry to a person accompanying a visitor using two sticks or a wheelchair. This will not be available in 2027.
In regards to this situation… On setting up the show I was advised not to offer any free entry, and it was not something I was able to afford in a large scale at all but as someone with multiple health conditions and disabilities both hidden and often visible, I was just trying to push to offer a little more. I wanted for any visitor that would need to bring someone with them so that they could access the marketplace to not have to pay out for an extra ticket and instead be able to spend that second ticket amount in the marketplace with a vendor.
Unfortunately in the past years myself and our volunteers on the door (my family members) have been subject to unkindness and abuse regarding this policy. On the run up to the 2026 show a visitor let me know that they felt my policy was discriminatory towards folks with disabilities. I’m so sorry if this is how I have made anyone feel in the past. As a person with disabilities myself I was trying to always push for more. Making our show accessible has always been a main priority for me and comes at significant cost which I believe is worth every penny, because I want EAYF to feel like home for everyone. I’m not a big events company, I’m a local person putting my heart and soul into this event all year round. I promise to continue doing everything I possibly can to make EAYF accessible every year.
Is there parking at EAYF?
Yes! We have more than enough parking for all visitors to East Anglia Yarn Festival, and even better… we keep it free!
On arrival please keep an eye out for our carpark attendants who will direct you and let them know if you require blue badge parking. Blue badge parking does not need to be prebooked and our carpark attendants reserve a very large amount of space for accessible parking.
Who runs EAYF?
EAYF is run by me… Laura! Hi!
I am a yarn dyer, you can find me over at FOLK Yarn Studio where I dye yarn in Lowestoft, less than an hour drive from the showground. I’ve been running my small business for 6 years now, and travelling around the country to vend at yarn shows. Before I set up EAYF I hassled lots of folks to set a yarn show up in our area, and didn’t get any takers!
So eventually I decided to do it myself, and with a lot of support from amazing friends (two yarn dyers in particular who were my biggest support) and lots of family members, with my small children in tow (my youngest was 2 at the time) we held the first EAYF in 2022!
On show weekend you can find me running around doing any job that needs doing, but I couldn’t do any of it without the amazing support of my friends and family that volunteer over the weekend! You might find my dad and husband directing cars in the carpark, my mum and auntie scanning your tickets, my brother behind the merchandise table. So our event isn’t run by a big events company, it’s me, a bonkers knitter and all of my wonderful friends and family, and we hope you have the best weekend with us!
Do children need a ticket?
No, children aged 15 and under do not need a ticket but must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder. You do not need to reserve them a space or register for children’s attendance in advance. Children must be supervised by their accompanying adults at all times.
Will I receive a paper ticket?
All our ticketing is run through Ticket Source, an external ticketing company. You can select to receive a paper ticket through them if you wish, though they do charge for this. Otherwise you will receive a downloadable ticket which you can opt to print yourself or present to us on a mobile device on the weekend.
Once your ticket has been scanned you will be offered the option to have your hand stamped so that you can exit and re-enter the show as much as you would like during the day. This is needed if you would like to visit the outdoor food vendors and then return to the show.
All tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged, please double check your ticket selection, the date and time before checking out as this CANNOT be changed once purchased.
If you choose to purchase the optional refund protection that Ticket Source provide that is between yourself and Ticket Source. The show would not have knowledge of this and Ticket Source will support you with any claim on any protections you purchase.
I’m bringing a group to EAYF, do you do group discounts?
Yes! If you are looking to book 10 tickets or more for a day at the show in one transaction then an automatic discount is applied through TicketSource.
All tickets are not refundable and cannot be exchanged, please check your ticket options before purchasing.
Is your venue accessible?
Yes, our event is all on one level, there are ramps to the entrance of the building. Our venue does have multiple accessible toilets. We offer time slots for entry to control the flow of visitors to the event and there will not be any background music playing in any space. We are recommending that anyone who struggles with crowds may prefer to choose a Sunday entry ticket as it is likely to be quieter on the Sunday.
There are multiple seating areas at our event. A smaller seating area at one end of the marketplace and a larger seating area with tables at the far end of the arena. Our marketplace is large and we understand that not everyone is able to walk the aisles without a break.
All of our aisles are several metres wide. Whilst the show can become crowded, especially on a Saturday, our aisles are laid out to accommodate multiple people and wheelchairs at a time.
We have also hired the new build additional toilet block at the far end of the arena, so there are both standard and accessible facilities at both ends of the arena.
We have also set aside a space to use as a quiet room within the arena if you need a break from the show, and the arena is surrounded by green space which you are welcome to use to take a break if needed.
Can I pay by cash or card on the day?
The entry and merchandise booth for the festival will take both cash and card for the weekend and most vendors will do the same. There is not a cash machine on site.
Will there be food available at the venue?
Yes, we have food vendors both inside and outside the arena, with hot food vendors being located outside, we will offer more information on food vendors closer to the 2027 show.
We aim to work with a range of local food vendors to make sure we can provide for as many dietary requirements and choices as possible.
Will there be show guides?
We always aim to provide a show guide. The book is available for free on entry to the show.
We hope to provide a show guide again in 2027, but guides are supported by advertising purchased by our vendors, which we are incredibly grateful to have received amazing support with every year so far. We will endeavour to do everything possible to make sure we can continue to offer show guides each year.
Can I bring my dog?
Support and guide dogs of any kind are welcome at EAYF, please make sure your service dog is wearing their harness or lead identifying them as a support animal. All dogs must stay on the lead at all times and be under control. Please clean up after your dog, and make sure they are well supervised at all times.
Will there be an EAYF 2028?
Yes! Plans are already in the works for EAYF 2028!
Will there be classes and social events running in 2027?
The Big Stitch Night, our annual charity event will hopefully be back for 2027!
Over the past years of the show we have done our best to offer a range of different classes at the show. These have not always had the best uptake. So we’re rethinking the class offering for 2027 and cannot guarantee classes will take place.
Will there be any competitions or make alongs at EAYF 2027?
Yes! We are running our annual Make along! Details of the 2027 makealong will be coming soon!
Tell us about your COVID-19 precautions…
Here at EAYF we take COVID-19 very seriously. We have implemented time slots for entries throughout both days to try and control the flow of visitors. We will conform with all government guidelines in relation to events. Whilst we recognise that face coverings are no longer mandatory for events such as ours we fully support anyone who makes the decision to wear them.
Will you have podcaster lanyards available?
Yes!
Our podcaster page will have more details later in 2026!
What can I do if I have purchased tickets and can no longer attend?
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds or exchanges on tickets, ticket sales are final. Please check the day and time you are booking before checking out to ensure you purchase your chosen time slot. If you can no longer attend then feel free to pass on your ticket to a friend!
TicketSource do offer their own refund protection provided through XCover that you can choose to purchase when you buy your tickets if you would like to. This is not something that is connected in anyway with our event and we cannot advise on it.
